Lume ruminations-- GMT Master II C and DEEPSEA

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I ran an informal test last night of my gold GMT Master II Ceramic with maxi-dial, and my new DEEPSEA.

As you know, the GMT Master has light green/ whitish Superluminova, and the new DEEPSEA has blue Superluminova.

After fully charging each with a Surefire for longer than necessary in both cases the observations are as follows:

1. Immediately after charging the GMT Maxi-dial glows much more brightly in the greenish/white lume than the blue lume, which seems understated by comparison;

2 In about 20 minutes, both dials quiet down from the overly bright high charged look and are both equally visible.

3. At 4 hours both are dimming but both are still visible as to all hands, including the second hand, and markers. It is about here where my Luminox starts being brighter than either of the Rolexes, and the tritium capsules take over from this point forward.

4. At 6 hours I can still make out the time on the GMT and if I work at it I can find the dot on the second hand and track it. The hour hand stays strong, but the minute hand seems to be dimming. All hands and markers are still crisp on the DEEPSEA, although they are dimming also.

5. At 7 hours the DEEPSEA is easier to read. Not necessarily any brighter than the GMT, but for some reason the blue color seems easier to see. Not sure why that is. I don't think the lume indication circles, or the hands have any larger area covered with lume on the DEEPSEA than on the GMT. So this may be a subjective reaction, but I can see the blue better as they both become weak.
